Breastie Babe
Mackenzie, your Philadelphia Breastie Babe, connected with The Breasties in 2017. Currently living in Old City, with her husband, Josh and their pup, Jackson. She is a writer at heart and a content specialist by trade.

In 2014, Mackenzie lost her Mother to a five-year battle with triple negative breast cancer. In 2016, genetic testing revealed that she has the BRCA1 gene mutation. In 2017, at the age of 28, she underwent a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction, at The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in New Orleans.

If there is anything she has learned through this cancer community she was thrust into at the age of 21, it’s to be an advocate for your healthcare and to be honest with your grief. Navigating her way through her grief and heightened risk of cancer, Mackenzie shares her story via her blog, ihearitssunnier.com and her Instagram.
